The aim of the Office for Standards in Education (Ofsted) is to help improve the quality and standards of education and childcare through independent inspection and regulation.

Since April 2005 playgroups face a new inspection framework. One of the changes was that all playgroups will receive no warning of their inspection. Another change was a new grading system. The grades are inadequate, satisfactory, good, and outstanding.

The pre-school was inspected on 29 June 2005 and was awarded an overall grade of good.
'Helping children make a positive contribution' was graded outstanding and all other areas were good.

Some quotes from the report:
'Children enjoy a great sense of belonging from the moment they come into pre-school'
'Children's individual needs are met and they receive appropriate support because the consistent and caring environment created by staff helps children to feel confident'
'Children respond and interact well because the quality of teaching is high. The learning environment is very well planned to provide a broad and balanced range of activities and experiences which truly interest the children'
